TOL: Kortright Centre pt. 2

As promised, today I would like to write a post regarding the portrait shoot at Kortright with TOL.

The location was wonderful! Rays of sunlight beaming through the leaves and the shades killing the harsh noon sunlight helped with the portrait shoot πŸ˜€

In almost all of these photos, I was using SB 600 as an off camera flash (triggered by pop up flash on my D700). Lighting up the subject without blowing out the nice green lights in the background… πŸ˜‰

This was my first time, really trying out the off camera flash using CLS. Sinc I didn’t have any light-stands or umbrellas so in some of these photos, the light is pretty hard as it came directly from a bare strobe (SB 600). I can’t wait to see the results I could get with some light stands and shoot-through/reflective umbrellas later.

Like I said, since I didn’t have any light stands/tripods, I was either holding the flash in my other hand or setting them on a tree branch…. considering the circumstance, I am quite pleased with the results I got πŸ˜‰

I am still waiting for the shoot through umbrella, reflective umbrella and a light stand that I ordered over the internet. When they arrive, you can bet I will be experimenting with them a LOT πŸ˜‰

  1. Hey, nice work! Particularly like the second from last set (in the bare wood tree trunks) and last shot looks great too!

    • Thank you πŸ˜€

The trail had a LOT of locations that looked great for a portrait shoot. I think I will be definitely visiting there again to try out some more shoot.

The second to last set (the bare wood tree trunks) location was indeed very nice. We were pleasantly surprised by the scene when we first found the location πŸ˜€
