Strolling through Autumn

Given the post “Autumn is almost over…” was very popular among my readers, I have decided to do another post of fall portrait with Vea.

As we were location scouting for ‘fall environment’, we thought “hmm… let’s try out few places that are close by” and voila! I present you Earl Bales Park near Sheppard Ave. and Bathurst St.!
Every time I was driving by Yonge St. and Hwy 401, I noticed the beautiful fall colours and when I got to actually shoot at Earl Bales Park, the park certainly did not disappoint me. Although I wish I had found the place a week earlier when there would have been more leaves on the trees but I guess I shouldn’t get greedy πŸ˜‰

Autumn is almost over…

This year, I seem to have missed out on the autumn. Only recently, I realized how most of the leaves have already fallen. Well, Vea and I decided to make the best of the last few days of autumn and went to Burlington, ON. where the windows wallpaper was photographed. Luckily for us, there were still quite a few leaves left still and yes! It was gorgeous! I think Vea and I will definitely pay another visit!

Unionville Portrait with Vea

Unionville was one of the very first locations I went to shoot when I first started photography. I still remember how excited I was with the photos I took then.
Well, my love for photography has grown even bigger since and I would like to believe my skills have grown along with my passion too (thanks to Vea, who has always been a very willing model in my photos!).

Shell and Moojun’s Wedding

It wasn’t that long ago when I wrote a post about our outing with Shell and Moojun. Now they are a happily married couple.
Vea, being Shell’s best friend, was the maid of honour. This also meant that, I, as Vea’s boyfriend, got to see how much effort was put into the planning of this wedding by Shell and I wouldn’t be exaggerating if I said I had never seen a wedding planned with such meticulous detail. In the end though, it all seemed to be worth it, I saw a LOT of people having so much fun!

Beach outing with Ian & Kelvin

On the east side of Toronto, there is R.C. Harris Water Filtration Plant. It’s a good location for a photo shoot but when we went this time, the area was heavily under renovation. Nevertheless, we had a great time πŸ˜‰

Next to the filtration plant, there is a very nice beach. Here you will find a lot of the locals out and about strolling with their dogs. Although Ian and Kelvin were quite timid in front of the dogs but they definitely weren’t very shy in front of the camera πŸ˜‰

The weather was really nice and the light wasn’t too harsh as it was getting late in the afternoon… it was approaching the ‘golden hour’ for portraits πŸ˜‰

The above selection of shots (especially the top left shot) is Vea’s favourite photo of the day. Ian was holding Kelvin’s socks, and he definitely showed that he wasn’t enjoying it πŸ˜›

It’s amazing how Ian and Kelvin entertain themselves by finding something of interest from the most ordinary objects… like…. stones πŸ˜›

Well… ordinary or not, it think it’s safe to assume that they are enjoying themselves! πŸ˜‰

Ian and Kelvin

As I have mentioned in my earlier post, Ian and Kelvin are here from Korea. As you will see in the photos below, they are adorable! πŸ˜€

Although focusing on ‘fast moving target’ wasn’t easy πŸ˜‰ … especially when I was trying to use shallow depth of field, I love how cute they look in the images captured! πŸ˜€

People generally tend to shy away in front of the camera but since both Vea and I have been taking photos of Ian and Kelvin for last few days, they have become pretty at ease now in front of the camera. πŸ™‚

Looking at Ian and Kelvin, I wonder…. what my kids are going to be like in the future πŸ™‚ I guess I will take a lot of photos then too? πŸ˜‰

Boston Pizza

With Shell’s wedding coming up next month, Vea and I are trying to keep our diet under control… So…. we’ve been trying to keep things healthy

However indulgence once in awhile is ok right? πŸ˜‰ Well, we haven’t eaten out at Boston Pizza in awhile so…. πŸ˜‰

The food was good and it was nice to chat & chill. Oh yeah and D800 rocks! These were taken using 50mm 1.4 lens.

Costco Outing with Ian and Kelvin

Lately, I have been extremely busy and haven’t been able to write up many posts on my blog. Hopefully, with my newly acquired D800, I will be posting a lot more frequently as I did before. πŸ™‚

Vea’s nephews, Ian and Kelvin are here from Korea. They are just adorable! πŸ˜€ I am sure you will get to see many more pictures of them in the future posts too πŸ™‚

Ross Park BBQ

It’s a fact that I love food, especially when it is a BBQ held on a perfect summer weekend πŸ˜‰

BBQ at Ross Park with my friends! πŸ˜€

I took my flash gear with me, knowing that I will have plenty ofΒ opportunities to take some portrait photos πŸ˜‰

And photo of me and Vea’s shadows πŸ˜€

After the BBQ, the guys played volleyball and girls…chatted. πŸ˜€ Well, the time flew by and the sun was already setting over the horizon but that didn’t stop me from taking more photos πŸ˜‰

I tried using Tungsten White Balance for the camera and put CTO gel on the off camera flash to get the above pictures.

And here is lovely Vea, being a human flash stand πŸ˜€

Whittamore’s Farm: Strawberry Picking

I have never been to a strawberry picking before until this weekend. It was hot and rather humid but it was still a lot of fun πŸ˜€

Vea and I went to Whittamore’s Farm to do some strawberry picking with our friends (more precisely, Vea picked strawberries and I took photos :P).

Since it was a sunny day AND it was the weekend, there were a lot of people at the farm but that didn’t stop us from having fun πŸ™‚

But I think it was the kids (Aiden and Ryan) who had the most fun πŸ˜€

The berry pies they sell at the farm are ridiculously delicious πŸ˜€ I highly recommend trying them out πŸ™‚
